Our Diversity Council provides continued focus on and promotion of a diverse and inclusive workplace. The Diversity Council has an oversight, advisory and advocacy role for achieving the company’s diversity goals. It is chaired by a member of our senior leadership team and comprises employee volunteer members.

Graduate & Internship Opportunities.

 

  • Helia is committed to providing graduate and internship and career launching opportunities for current and graduating university students in our community. 

  • Since 2012, our programs have seen graduates and interns join various parts of our business from finance, technology, operations, product and marketing enabling our people to kickstart their careers with meaningful work that adds value.

 

Program inclusions:

  • Onboarding - our new hires meet one another, learn about the graduate and internship program, meet senior leaders and are assigned a buddy from the business;

  • Lunch and learn sessions - held informally, graduates and interns learn about topics relevant to them (eg; presentation skills, insurance industry insights) whilst connecting with their colleagues;

  • Social opportunities – such as monthly drinks, team offsites, group lunches and other social get togethers such as our Diwali and Family Fun Day;

  • Interns are also supported by their manager, a buddy and our People and Culture Team.

I commenced working with Helia in early 2022 as a Marketing Intern through Helia's internship program. The opportunity to work in the business on real marketing initiatives including 'it's my home' (annual lifestyle magazine) and the rebranding project has been beyond amazing. I would not have been given these opportunities so early in my career. I have now been permanently appointed to the role of Marketing Specialist. I couldn't be more excited.
